FACC Recognizes Scholarship Recipients
by Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce on July 8th, 2016

The Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce presented 12 local high school seniors with scholarships at the annual Scholarship Luncheon on Wednesday, July 6th at Andre’s West Banquet Center in Fenton, Missouri.  Since 1987, the Fenton Chamber has had the privilege of awarding 322 high school graduates with over $260,000 in scholarship funds to further their education.

This year’s recipients: from Rockwood Summit High School – Joel Crumrine, Taylor Dedic, Kayla Drake, Shannon Griffin, Austin Henry, Abigail Phillips, Kevin Schmidt and Jack Welker; from Lindbergh High School – Natalie Schodl; from Northwest High School – Katherine Meyer; from Ursuline Academy – Caroline Adams; and from Cor Jesu Academy – Gabrielle Picard.

Members of the Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce along with the high school graduates and their families, were in attendance to honor the many outstanding successes and accomplishments of these scholars from the 63026 zip code.

This event is sponsored by Edward Jones – Sean C. King.  Awards were presented by Sean King (Edward Jones), Ginny Goede (The Jewelry Connection) and Missouri House Representative Shamed Dogan (District 98) as the honors and achievements of each scholar were announced.  Scholarship Recipients were also awarded with an official proclamation from the Missouri House of Representatives, recognizing their receipt of a 2016 Fenton Chamber Scholarship.
Caroline Adams was awarded the 2016 Ginny Goede Scholarship, established in 2002 as a tribute to her untiring dedication to the Chamber, to helping others and to giving back to the community.  Caroline completed over 240 service hours while attending Ursuline Academy – that’s DOUBLE the requirement that was necessary for graduation.  Some of these hours were spent with Nurses for Newborns as well as rebuilding homes devastated by tornadoes in Joplin, Missouri.  Finding TOMS Shoes’ mission and model as an inspiration, she hopes to open her own “Give Back” type company someday.  Caroline plans to study Strategic Communications and Anthropology at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri this fall.
