FENTON CHAMBER MEMBERS PLEDGE TO “FIND IT IN FENTON FIRST” WITH NEW CAMPAIGN TO BRING 10 PERCENT OF SPENDING BACK TO LOCAL BUSINESSES
FENTON, MO (January 28, 2014) – Representatives from dozens of Fenton-area businesses will be taking the pledge to bring 10 percent of their business to local organizations in 2014. The “Find it in Fenton First” campaign kicks-off at the Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Andre’s West banquet facility.
“Local businesses who shop other local businesses multiply their impact,” said Fenton Area Chamber of Commerce President Greg Bresler. “When a business succeeds in our community, they bank with local banks, advertise in local newspapers and purchase local services such as accounting and printing. It is logical for local businesses to support each other.”
Attendees at the campaign launch will learn about other benefits of shopping local, including:
A Strong Local Economy: When you shop locally, you simultaneously create jobs, fund more city services through sales tax, invest in neighborhood improvement and promote community development.
Community Funding: Purchases made locally contribute to the fund for city-provided entities, including police and fire departments, senior services, libraries, street maintenance, parks, trails and much more. It also allows businesses to support important events and charitable causes.
Attractive Climate for New Business: A healthy and vibrant business community helps attract new business development.
Community Pride: Shopping locally lets others know you are proud of the community you live and work in.
